Keynote, Speed Talks and GC Panel: Digital Sovereignty in Practice: Realities and Trade offs

This session offers a practical deep dive into what digital sovereignty truly means in the Government of Canada context, moving beyond policy language to focus on real-world implications for IT practitioners. Participants will explore how sovereignty requirements shape day-to-day decisions while navigating constraints, trade-offs, and operational realities. The session will also feature short “speed talks” from industry, providing quick insights into digital sovereignty expectations. Through concrete examples and GC-relevant scenarios, participants will gain a clearer, actionable understanding of digital sovereignty principles in action while balancing security, usability, and delivery outcomes.
